Bedford and Kempston MP Mohammad Yasin has opened a new cycle parking hub with Bikeep Smart Bike Racks at Bedford station.
With two-tier storage for up to 322 bikes and seven charging bays for electric bikes — including Bikeep Smart Bike Racks — the hub is covered by CCTV and offers free access to commuters and cyclists.

Mr Yasin said: "I was delighted to open the new cycle hub at Bedford station. It is more important than ever to increase the use of more sustainable methods of transport and the hub aims to provide a safe place for cyclists to park their bikes at the station alongside charging points for electric bikes."
"Travelling by train and bike is the most environmentally-friendly transport combination, and we're working with local communities to make our stations even more sustainable."
The Bedford cycle hub represents a growing trend of integrating smart bike parking infrastructure at rail stations across the UK, encouraging multimodal travel and reducing car dependency. Bikeep's smart racks provide secure, connected parking with e-bike charging capabilities — making them well suited for commuter environments where reliability and ease of access are essential.

Bikeep's IoT platform opens up a range of business models for operators, cities, and entrepreneurs — from corporate campus bike lockers and university mobility hubs to transit station parking and retail bike storage.

Bikeep's representative in Denmark, Jens Peter Hansen, makes the case for smarter, safer bicycle parking — because every bike ride starts and ends with a parked bike.

Bikeep is expanding its smart e-bike parking and charging network across the Netherlands — the world's leading cycling nation — with solar-powered stations supporting the country's growing e-bike infrastructure.
