The Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling (FABB) writes: "FABB recently discovered that a new bike parking option is available at the Reston Town Center. The new racks, made by the company Bikeep, contain a locking arm that is activated by using a Metro SmartTrip card or the Bikeep app. There is currently no time limit and the parking is free. The racks are arranged in stations that provide space for parking 5 to 9 bikes.
Several stations are located around the Town Center. The racks are intended for short term parking for visitors. We've been told that Bikeep lockers will be installed this summer to provide long term parking for employees or more secure parking for visitors."

The Bikeep smart parking stations at Reston Town Center represent a significant step forward for cyclist infrastructure in Northern Virginia. Each station accommodates 5 to 9 bikes and features individually locking arms, giving cyclists a secure, convenient place to leave their bikes while visiting the Town Center's shops, restaurants, and offices.
What sets Bikeep's solution apart is its accessibility: users can activate the locking mechanism using a Metro SmartTrip card — familiar to commuters throughout the Washington, D.C. region — or through the Bikeep mobile app. This frictionless approach removes barriers for both regular commuters and first-time users.
The planned addition of Bikeep lockers will further expand secure parking options at the site, catering to employees and visitors who need longer-term, fully enclosed storage for their bikes.

The new Bikeep Smart Socket tackles e-bike fire safety in shared bike rooms with one-button activation, an automatic 4-hour shut-off, and zero app or Wi-Fi setup required.

Bikeep has installed a new smart bike parking and e-scooter charging station at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, supporting sustainable and convenient micromobility for employees and guests.

Southend-on-Sea has completed its smart bike-parking rollout, with ten fully-connected bike rooms now live across the city, powered by Bikeep's access-management platform and IoT hardware.
