Whistler's decision to integrate Bikeep's IoT platform into its active transportation infrastructure is a strong endorsement of technology that has been gaining traction across North America. The inclusion of Bikeep's smart bike docks is particularly notable given the town's reputation as a leader in sustainable tourism and outdoor recreation.
Mayor Jack Crompton's support further underscores this commitment. As he noted, "Riding my e-bike as my main mode of transportation not only gives me a great way to get from A to B while supporting Whistler's climate action goals, it's also a great way to experience Whistler and stay active. Infrastructure like this will ultimately help more people move beyond the car by making cycling more accessible and convenient."
This initiative follows the successful implementation of Bikeep technology in the Vancouver metro area, in collaboration with Urban Racks and TransLink. Since 2021, Urban Racks has deployed Bikeep-powered smart bike parking stations at key locations throughout Vancouver, including the recent addition at Phibbs Exchange in North Vancouver. These installations have set a high standard for secure, accessible bike parking that Whistler is now building on.
At the core of this expansion is Bikeep's IoT platform, which transforms traditional bike parking into a secure, user-friendly experience. The smart docks come equipped with intelligent multi-layer security systems that significantly reduce bike theft by securing both the frame and front wheel. Integrated charging lockers also cater to the growing number of e-bike users, making it easier to keep rides powered and safe.
Located at high-traffic spots such as Whistler Olympic Plaza, Meadow Park Sports Centre, and Blackcomb Lodge, these smart docks are set to become a vital part of Whistler's efforts to build a more sustainable community. By making cycling more accessible and convenient, Whistler is encouraging a broader shift towards sustainable urban mobility.

Bikeep has installed a new smart bike parking and e-scooter charging station at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, supporting sustainable and convenient micromobility for employees and guests.

Southend-on-Sea has completed its smart bike-parking rollout, with ten fully-connected bike rooms now live across the city, powered by Bikeep's access-management platform and IoT hardware.
